Each NISSAN Battery Pack Cost More Than the Car.... They're Ripping Off America
NISSAN Insider
shares with Sharyn.....
$600
x
48 (each battery has 48 modules)
= $28,800
Just for modules
It's estimated that to "refresh" each car under the new warranty the average leaf will need approx. 25-35 modules (lets say 30) that $18,000. In Arizona the amount to refresh some cars will be 70 modules. $42,000.
The car cost less (after the federal tax credits) then just the cost of 1st set of modules.
The price of 600-630 per module is AFTER the supply chain cost savings of having it be "mass marketed"... well supposedly mass marketed.
Other data that I'm getting verified is NISSAN better batteries will NOT be made in the USA.... I'm getting that confirmed. Evidently they do not have a viable battery and out going to buy one... most likely it will be made in Korea.
the New 2013 Leaf is a fable... just like the Emperors New Clothes.
It's unclear whether Nissan has made significant progress toward improving this standard degradation, though the manufacturer has been working on sharpening the precision of its battery capacity gauges. According to Palmer, they'll "have more to report on this topic in the New Year."
